Full-Frontal Snogging
9 Jul
One of the things I miss about being in love, or at least, being in a relationship, is the sex.
Well, ok, that’s a lie. There wasn’t any sex. But there was a lot of snogging and necking and touching and not talking. I think our longest make-out session lasted for an hour, and I swear my lips were twice their normal size when we were done.
Anyway, that’s one of those things you just can’t substitute when you’re single and alone. I mean, I’m not utterly alone really, but I’m not about to snog my mother. Gross.
Exactly.
So to remedy this situation, I am occupying my time with other things, like eating and shopping and eating and packing and more eating.
What? I need to make up for the lack of lip action!
Anyway. Packing. Right. So I’m going to China on the 16th and coming back in a month. We’re off to see the Great Wall and the Terracotta Warriors and all the other snazzy stuff that I should see as a purebred Chinese. So far, my parents have been fretting over what to give which great aunt, and I’ve been fretting over what to wear.
I hear that Beijing (and the other big cities) are quite modern these days. Does that mean mini-skirts are acceptable? And heels? I’m going to be doing a lot of walking around these tour sites, and I’ve got my running/walking shoes for that, but should I bring some nicer shoes, too? Last time I went back, all the ladies in the city were walking around decked out in fashionable trousers and leather pumps that clicked smartly on the trash-laden ground. But I’m not sure I could pull that off. Plus, I still look like a kid. What do girls my age wear when they’re not in school uniforms? Are tank-tops scandalous? Do they use make-up at all? Dangly earrings?
Garrrrr. Infiltrating another culture is always such a mind-numbing affair. But if I can get in some quality snogging time with a cute Chinese boy, maybe it’ll be worth it.
Just as long as my parents aren’t watching, of course.

Wow an hour of lip action! That’s really long! My longest was only like..erm..2 minutes? Haha. I can’t do that long. I’d rather watch tv or something.
Oh don’t worry, I’m sure heels and tank tops are allowed at Beijing! It’s pretty modern right now. But I’m not so sure about the toilets though. I think you should bring lots of tissue with you when you’re over there just in case.
Urm… I’m in Taiwan, not quite China, right now, and from what I can see Converse Chuck Taylors and all sorts of American brand athletic shoes are insanely popular in addition to pumps, so I think you’ll be just fine. =)
