It sounds like you still have that tender kind of care and love for him, but its such a level of care that you rather his happiness first. That's purity. I think you are very lucky though, that the two of you have the friendship and trust you have now. That's not too common to find in ex's, the ones who have that friendship and closeness afterwards... its something so special, no wonder partners afterwards would always wonder and probably be a little jealous. This was a very revealing and heart-warming entry to read, if a bit sad. Awww… very sweet.
